Collection: Mortars and pestles

A mortar and pestle turned from a single piece of olive wood, roughly 13 cm across, in two shapes. Heavy enough to stay put on the counter while you work.

Olive wood is dense and closed-grained, so it crushes garlic, peppercorns and dried herbs without soaking up their oils the way a porous wood or unglazed stone does. Wipe clean rather than soak.
