About Nawara Olive Wood Craft
Nawara Olive Wood Craft makes kitchen and home pieces hand-carved from olive wood. Each piece is designed in Switzerland and shaped by hand by our team of artisans in Tunisia.
Why olive wood
Olive trees in the Mediterranean live for centuries and only get pruned, not cut down, to keep producing fruit — the wood we use comes from pruned branches and retired trees, not from clearing forests. It's one of the densest fruitwoods, which is why it resists scratching, doesn't easily absorb odors, and can be used and washed for years without warping.
How each piece is made
Our artisans in Tunisia have worked with olive wood for generations. Every piece starts as a rough-cut block, then gets shaped, sanded, and finished by hand — which is why the grain pattern on your piece is unique and won't be exactly matched on any other. Design and quality control are handled from our studio in Switzerland, so every new product goes through several rounds of prototyping before it reaches the shop.
What we make
Our catalog covers kitchen tools (spoons, boards, mills), tableware, and a few home and gift pieces — most can be personalized with laser engraving. We keep expanding based on what our customers ask for, so if there's a shape or tool you don't see, let us know.
